Objectives

The group project is designed to be completed in a small group. Your job is to identify questions that you can answer using the analytic techniques we’ve discussed in class, develop testable statistical hypotheses, and then answer the questions, determining if your hypotheses have evidence for them.

As described in the syllabus,

In your stats project, you will perform a data analysis on real data, using the skills you’ve developed in the labs. This group-based project is a semester-summarizing version of the lab exam—you will develop research questions, demonstrate your usage of Jamovi, create visualizations, carry out analyses, and produce a final document that reports all of them.

The assignment is available on Brightspace. You’ll turn in the final project document there, too. Only one person in each group needs to turn in the assignment; just make sure that you’ve confirmed that it’s been turned in.

The assignment is due on December 4th. (The class’s normal late policy applies, although you must do the presentation on that date.) Your group can request extra time for the document (up until the end of the semester on Friday, December 19th), but must do so before December 4th.

You will be able to work on this project during lab class on November 13, for all of class on November 20th, and in the intervening time until it is due.
